Our work on consumer markets

Consumer markets are changing and developing in response to new pressures and new economic opportunities. New consumer vulnerabilities will also emerge as markets evolve and the regulatory framework must keep up with these changes if consumers are to be appropriately supported and protected.

Our work focuses on understanding consumers’ needs and aspirations and how these should inform the structure and operation of markets and services. We use evidence to provide advice and input to governments, consumer bodies and regulators to address the cross-cutting issues of affordability, consumer vulnerability and the transition to net zero.
